The whites trained at Real Madrid City ahead of the derby league match next Sunday

Real Madrid had their second training session this week at Valdebebas ahead of the derby match to be played against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday (at 21:30 on Canal + 1) away at the Vallecas stadium. The team coached by Jose Mourinho had an intense training session with all the first-team squad players ahead of the fifth matchday’s game. The training session took place on pitches 1 and 2 at Real Madrid City. The players were split into three groups, each with specific exercises. The first group included Arbeloa, Pepe, Varane, Marcelo, Khedira, Xabi Alonso, Di María, Cristiano Ronaldo and Higuaín. These nine players, who were in the starting line-up in the Champions League win against Manchester City, combined different stretching exercises with continuous running under fitness coach Rui Faria. The second group was made up of Casillas, Adán and Jesús. The three goalkeepers had a specific training session under goalkeeping coach Silvino Louro, doing exercises with the ball in one of the goals. The other players made up the third group and started the session by doing an intense warm-up. Then, they did fitness training in three groups of four. Jose Mourinho kept a close eye on all his players’ performance throughout the session.
